The Final Trailer For INSIDIOUS: THE LAST KEY Has Arrived

The INSIDIOUS gang is back at it again with the spooky hijinks.

Like any successful horror series worth its salt, the Insidious franchise will continue churning out sequels, with each new entry losing one of the original players along the way, until audiences grow bored and stop showing up. The previous entry in the series, Insidious: Chapter 3, raked in over $100M worldwide on the back of a $10M production budget, so guess what movie you're about to see a trailer for?

That's right, Insidious: The Last Key.

Calling this one The Last Key feels like a transparent attempt to rope in fence-sitters with the promise of a series finale, but I'm not convinced this one will mark the end of the Insidious franchise. These movies may, in fact, go on forever, slowly whittling themselves down until they're literally just 60-minute jump-scare supercuts without a plot.

Anyhoo, here's the official plot synopsis:

"Parapsychologist Elise Rainier and her team travel to Five Keys, N.M., to investigate a man's claim of a haunting. Terror soon strikes when Rainier realizes that the house he lives in was her family's old home."

Holy shit, January 5th? This thing comes out in a few weeks? Man, between one thing and another, that release date completely escaped me.
