Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) has penned a straight-to-series order with Apple for a new space drama. This should come as huge news for geeks everywhere, as his work has long been viewed as a sci-fi staple.
Moore's latest seizes on the current alternative history craze. Set in an alternate timeline, it revolves around a space race that's never ended, which will come as both a blessing and a reminder to NASA nerds that nobody in our current American government gives a shit about the wonders of interstellar exploration.
Perhaps the bigger story here is the fact that Apple's greenlighting series at all, a fact that was news to this writer (hey, I can't keep up with everything, hard as I may try). Moore's show is just the latest in a slew of deals recently finalized by the mega corporation, including orders for a morning show drama executive produced by and starring Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston, as well as a reboot of Steven Spielberg’s Amazing Stories from Bryan Fuller.
No further details on Moore's newest endeavor are currently available, but we'll keep you up to date as it moves along.
