It’s Official: RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 Arrives This October

We're all gonna take the week off.

Well, it's official: Rockstar Games has officially dated Red Dead Redemption 2's arrival for October 26th, 2018. Given that this is probably our most highly-anticipated game release of the year, we're already blowing off the Halloween plans we haven't made yet.

If you've been following along, you know that Red Dead Redemption 2 was originally supposed to arrive last year. But, like any Rockstar game worth its salt, that initial release date turned out to be more of a penciled-in wish than anything else, and production delays caused it to be moved into the back half of 2018.

Rockstar released a statement on the matter, which you can read below:

"Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologise to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,

Rockstar Games"

The original Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest games ever made, a legitimately epic (and cinematic!) experience that we're still talking about nearly a decade later. We don't know much about the sequel, but we do know that everything we've seen so far has been exciting, and that the first trailer melted our faces off. Relive that magic below, and stay tuned for more on Red Dead Redemption 2 as we close in on that October release date.
