The First Actual DEADPOOL 2 Trailer Is Here

Meet Josh Brolin's Cable, who is definitely not Josh Brolin's Thanos.

Deadpool 2 is mere months away, but up until now the only glimpses we'd seen of the movie were in disconnected little comedy shorts masquerading as trailers. That all changes today, with the movie's first "proper" trailer, all polished up and revealing plenty of finished footage from the film.

Well, kinda.

Oh boy, there are plenty of gags to pick out in this thing. Unfinished visual effects in a trailer gag! Moustache removal gag! Toy Story gag! South Park gag! Premature ejaculation gag! Julian Dennison! Zazie Beetz! Brianna Hildebrand Leslie Uggams! Ryan Reynolds turning to the camera to comment on his movie! Everything seems present and accounted for.

We also get to meet Josh Brolin's Cable (aka: the other Marvel villain being played by Brolin this year), whose hyper-serious attitude seems a perfect foil for Reynolds' wise-cracking personification of Reddit.

In case you want an official synopsis, a reminder that this is all you're getting out of 20th Century Fox:

After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.

Deadpool 2, still untitled, hits theatres May 18th. And if you're wondering why I'm so excited about a kid who's got one shot in the trailer, go watch Hunt For the Wilderpeople.
