Watch Tom Cruise Pilot His Own Stunt Helicopter In MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE – FALLOUT

Now he's the best at flying AND running. Damn.

The Mission: Impossible – Fallout trailer that launched at the Super Bowl was pretty great, right? Some fun stunts, right? But do you have any idea how truly fucking insane Tom Cruise's stunt work is in this movie? Watch the following video as if you were Paramount's insurance accountant and try not to have a heart attack.

Here we've got Tom Cruise not only flying his own helicopter - not only acting while flying said helicopter - not only serving as a mounted camera operator via said helicopter - but doing it all in conjunction with a dozen other choppers, in mountainous terrain, and performing dangerous stunt manoeuvres. All after a much shorter training period than one would usually undergo. This is the kind of thing greenscreens were made for, and you can feel the trepidation from director Chris McQuarrie and the rest of the crew, but Cruise ain't having it.

Hell, maybe Scientology does work after all.

Cruise is clearly on a mission to go out in a blaze of glory before he becomes too old to do this shit anymore. He's probably got a clause in his will stating that if he dies in the line of screen duty, it should just be worked into the film - because at least it'll be real, dammit.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout releases July 27th, and you know you're going to go see this thing in IMAX.
