The Trailer For PYEWACKET Copes With Grief Via Black Magic

In which it seems like sadness and the occult might not be the best mix.

Pyewacket premiered to some solid buzz out of the Toronto International Film Festival. The latest from Backcountry director Adam MacDonald, it revolves around a mother (Laurie Holden) and daughter (Nicole Muñoz) dealing with intense grief over the loss of the family's patriarch. When the teenager turns to the dark arts, things of course take a rather nasty turn. 

IFC Midnight has released a trailer for the film, and it looks like a pretty weird, intense affair. Check it out: 

Pyewacket doesn't exactly look like an easy sit, but there's a real chilly atmosphere to the picture. Here's hoping the movie lives up to the modest hype it's already received when it arrives in theaters and on VOD March 23, 2018.
