That MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE Movie You’re Dreading Just Got New Directors

He-Man gets some Nee-Men.

Look, I just don’t know what to tell you when it comes to Masters of the Universe. We’ve been hearing about a possible film for a while now, none of which came with any real indicator of why this would work or what we should be excited about. It’s just He-Man. Remember He-Man?

Now, according to Variety, the project is moving forward with new directors The Nee Brothers, Adam and Aaron Nee, who you may know from a 2015 film called Band of Robbers, which I guess is about a modern day, grown-up Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn. I’ve never seen it, but it’s giving me some pause.

Also giving me pause, this shit is going to be written and executive produced by David Goyer, so any excitement you may have been working on can now go in the recycling bin. I have very little faith in him overall and even less faith he’ll be able to make something of the already somewhat shaky Masters of the Universe mythos. I do still enjoy the cartoon and remember loving the toys, but it would have to take some real clever outside-the-box thinking to make this something special, and I just don’t know about that from someone like Goyer.

But hey, you may feel differently. If so, please sound off in the comments and see if you can do so without mentioning The Dark Knight.
