James Wan To Executive Produce SWAMP THING Series For DC Digital Platform

You got all that?

We’re on the verge of being swamped with specific streaming platforms we probably don’t want save for maybe one show we just can’t refuse. For about eight episodes I had this problem last year with Star Trek: Discovery. Here pretty soon though, it’s going to get a lot more widespread.

Case in point: whatever DC’s digital platform ends up being called. They already have plans for a Metropolis show, a Teen Titans show and animated programs involving Harley Quinn and Young Justice: Outsiders.

None of those really float my boat, though. A James Wan Swamp Thing show, however? Now we’re talking.

According to THR, James Wan will executive produce a Swamp Thing series with Mark Verheiden (Daredevil) and Gary Dauberman (IT) writing the pilot and acting as showrunners should the series get picked up (they need to see that script first). I have a feeling it’ll probably get picked up.

We have a lot of Swamp Thing media we can point to and call silly if we really want to, but there is a ton of great stuff that could be explored with this character in the right hands. I certainly hope that ends up being the case here. We’ll keep an eye out on this one as it develops further.
