So, here's a weird story: according to SyFy Wire, the LAPD is currently investigating the mysterious disappearance of the original Iron Man armor, from a warehouse in Pacoima, CA.
The costume - comprised of the helmet, chest piece, and leg/arm shields worn by Robert Downey Jr. in the very first Iron Man film - is currently valued at over $300,000.
"The L.A. Police Department confirms to SYFY WIRE that the suit was the only thing missing from the 13200 block on Weidner Street, where the facility is located, and the case is being treated as a burglary. According to CBS News, security guards from the facility were not speaking to press."
Apparently, the costume was last seen in February, only to be noticed missing by its keepers in April. There are currently no suspects in the case, but come on: it's one of you, isn't it? You got all worked up about the arrival of Infinity War, you found out where they were keeping this thing, and you decided to relieve these poor people of their Iron Man suit so you could wear it on opening night.
Look, it's totally understandable why you might have felt inclined to do this (I mean, let's face it, that'd be the baller cosplay move to end all baller cosplay moves), but at the end of the day this is still a burglary we're talking about. You're probably gonna get in trouble, and you should really consider returning your stolen costume to the authorities (right after Halloween, obviously).
Stay tuned for further updates on The Curious Case of The Missing Mark III Armor as they become available (and, for the love of God, if you're the person who snatched this costume from a Pacoima storage facility, please consider giving it back).
