Several weeks ago, Amazon unveiled the very first footage from Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria remake at CinemaCon. We were in that room and saw both the footage and the reaction from the crowd, all of which left this writer feeling very confident: if the movie's even half as beautiful and disturbing as the sequence we were shown, we're in for one helluva ride.
In the weeks since, we've been not-so-patiently waiting to hear more about the project - when a trailer might arrive, when Guadagnino's film might actually arrive - and today we finally got a new piece of information: Suspiria will hit theaters on November 2nd, just in time for the holidays.
In addition to that, Amazon also shot over two new stills. Neither of them are particularly exciting - one features Dakota Johnson in dance gear, the other finds her in slightly different dance gear, looking directly into the camera - but we'll take what we can get.
Please look upon these photos now:
Amazon has also provided an official plot synopsis:
"As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renown dance company, its artistic director (Tilda Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare."
We could not be more excited about this film and are dying to hear, see and learn more about it. Stay tuned for further updates as we draw ever closer to Suspiria's November 2nd release date.
