At Long Last, The First Trailer For SUSPIRIA Has Arrived

This looks incredible.

Well, folks, it's finally here. I'm just gonna stand aside and let it do its thing:

This is the first trailer for Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria, which - as its title suggests - is a remake of Dario Argento's 1977 classic. As the footage suggests, however, this won't be a straight-up remake: Guadagnino and screenwriter David Kajganich are playing a slightly different game here.

See also: this official plot synopsis:

"As a darkness builds at the center of a world-renown dance company, its artistic director (Tilda Swinton), a young American new to the troupe (Dakota Johnson), and a grieving psychotherapist become entangled in a bloody, sighing nightmare."

Featuring Tilda Swinton, Dakota Johnson, Chloë Grace Moretz, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper (yes, that Jessica Harper) and a score from Radiohead's Thom Yorke, Guadagnino's Suspiria is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year. It also feels like this will be one of the year's most divisive films; some fans are not amused to see Argento's iconic film getting the remake treatment. But based on everything we've seen - including an exceptionally freaky sequence screened at CinemaCon - and the level of talent on the field, we couldn't be more excited: whatever this Suspiria turns out to be, odds are it's going to be something special.

Stay tuned for much more on Luca Guadagnino's Suspiria as we draw ever closer to the film's November 2nd release date.
