The First Trailer For A STAR IS BORN Is Here To Give You Goosebumps

Prepare to be very impressed.

Hollywood's been trying to get a new A Star Is Born remake off the ground for some time (at various times, Tom Cruise, Jennifer Lopez, Clint Eastwood and Beyonce have all been attached to different iterations of the project), but it finally took Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga to get the film over the starting line.

And guess what? They appear to have hit a massive homerun.

Warner Bros. screened this trailer for us back at CinemaCon, and it brought the house down. None of us were prepared for it, and were left wanting to see it again immediately. I'm thrilled it's finally here for the rest of you to experience, and doubly excited to see that they apparently didn't change a frame: this is exactly the trailer we were shown back in April. It's a goddamn powerhouse.

For those unfamiliar with the property - or unclear on what just transpired in that trailer - here's an official plot synopsis:

"Country music star Jackson Maine discovers an unknown but talented singer named Ally. As her career quickly takes off, Jackson starts to realize that his best days may be behind him."

Both Cooper and Gaga did their own singing for the film (at CinemaCon, Cooper took the stage and told a funny story about Gaga's insistence that they both sing everything live, rather than lip-synching, a move that struck terror into Cooper's heart), which will feature original songs written specifically for the film and its characters (translation: Gaga's performing at the Oscars next year). Oh, and Dave Chappelle's in it, too.

We're so impressed with this footage. What do you folks think? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for more as we approach A Star Is Born's October 5th release in theaters. We're thinking this one could be an Academy Award contender in more ways than one.
