Wow: Eddie Murphy To Play Rudy Ray Moore In Biopic From Craig Brewer

Netflix is getting a biopic of Rudy Ray Moore together and the talent for it so far is absolutely incredible. For starters, none other than Eddie Murphy will be playing the Dolemite star, which means we're going to see him play Dolemite himself at least a little. Just sit with that for a second. I find it all very difficult to picture, but I am so here to see what that looks like.

It gets even better. Like a whole lot better. The biopic will be directed by Hustle and Flow and Black Snake Moan’s Craig Brewer and written by The People v O.J. Simpson and Ed Wood duo Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski. So whatever this is it's going to have a lot of credibility behind it.

It's been a while since we've seen Eddie Murphy really shine, but this is no normal project, and I have a lot of faith that we're going to get something truly special from this lineup of folks. Dolemite is a hilarious character, but there is a ton of deeper subject matter to mine with Moore's life story. Obviously, we'll be following this one closely as it develops.
