James Marsden’s in Tarantino’s ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD, Too, Y’know

Also joining the cast: AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE's Julia Butters.

If you thought we might make it through today without yet another casting announcement regarding Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (the third in as many days!), you were sorely mistaken and, quite frankly, should feel embarrassed. Here comes another one, straight from Variety

"James Marsden and American Housewife actress Julia Butters will join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s film Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, sources tell Variety. Insiders would not reveal what roles Marsden and Butters will be playing."

So, let's recap the cast thus far, for anyone who hasn't been following along: Marsden and Butters are joining Al Pacino, Leonard DiCaprio, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Emile Hirsch, Dakota Fanning, Clifton Collins Jr., Keith Jefferson, Nicholas Hammond, Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Burt Reynolds, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen and Timothy Olyphant.

As previously reported, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood tells a sprawling, Los Angeles-based tale revolving around Rick Dalton (DiCaprio) and his long-time stunt double and sidekick, Cliff Booth (Pitt), who are trying to make the transition from the TV industry into that of feature films. Things get complicated (how, we don't know), when the Manson Family arrives on the doorstep of Dalton's next door neighbor, Sharon Tate (Robbie). I just cut and pasted this entire paragraph from the last bit of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood casting news, because I am quickly running out of ways to make that two-sentence description interesting for myself. Sorry. And yet? Not sorry.

Nothing further to report at this time, but we'll all meet back here tomorrow for whatever the next Once Upon a Time in Hollywood casting announcement may be. We're putting our money on Walton Goggins to show up in one of these things eventually (and you know Samuel L.'s gotta make an appearance). Stay tuned.

Once Upon a Time in Hollywood arrives on August 9th, 2019. Please spend the time between now and then reflecting on the fact that Marsden is crazy underrated in Anchorman 2.
