SDCC 2018: Let Mondo’s ANNIHILATION Poster Flourish On Your Walls

In which Rory Kurtz does it again.

Disclosure: Mondo and BMD are both owned by the Alamo Drafthouse.

Alex Garland's Annihilation isn't just one of the year's best sci-fi movies - it's one of 2018's best movies, period. It's a movie that demands a beautiful, thoughtful, maybe-kinda-creepy poster. Thankfully, the good folks at Mondo called in just the guy for the job: Rory Kurtz.

We've featured Kurtz' work here on the site before (the guy's crazy talented) and his poster for Garland's film - the variant edition of which will hit Mondo's SDCC booth (#435) sometime this week - is pretty goddamned great.

Here, take a look:

Annihilation by Rory Kurtz

SDCC Variant Edition of 200

Available Sometime This Week at Mondo's SDCC Booth (#435)

24" x 36" / $85

Annihilation by Rory Kurtz

Regular (Online) Edition of 325

Available Online Sometime This Week at Mondo's Website

24" x 36" / $75

So, as you can see, Mondo's got two versions of their latest poster to choose from: a variant edition (which will drop at a random time at their SDCC booth sometime this week) and a regular edition (which will drop online at Mondo's website at the same time the variant hits their SDCC booth). Whether you're in San Diego or trying for one of these from afar, you're gonna want to be quick - as with any limited edition Mondo release, these are likely to go quick.

UPDATE: Unbeknownst to us, this print went live and sold out before this article went live. Apologies for that, folks. We're going to leave this post up as a lesson to ourselves, and just in case anyone wants to gawk at the pretty images. Sorry about that!

Good luck to everyone going after one of these! While we're waiting on the drop: which one do you folks prefer? I'm leaning towards the reg, but honestly I'd be thrilled to get my hands on either of 'em. Love that deep, black background.
