Emma Thompson is returning to the alien-infested world of Men in Black. The Oscar winning actress and screenwriter will reprise her role as Agent O from 2012’s Men in Black 3 in F. Gary Gray’s as yet untitled reboot.
Here’s the latest from The Hollywood Reporter:
Plot details and most character details are being kept secret but it is known that Thompson will reprise the role of Agent O, the chief of the Men in Black organization.
The spinoff featuring alien-fighting and world-saving heroes is designed to relaunch the franchise, which began initially with the 1997 movie and included sequels released in 2002 and 2012, on a bigger and more global scale.
Fans already hyped about the film’s reunion of Thor: Ragnarok’s Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth, may also rejoice that Emma Thompson will once again appear alongside her Love Actually co-star Liam Neeson. With Kumail Nanjiani and Rafe Spall also starring, the ensemble cast is shaping up to be a huge draw for the film.
The Men in Black spin-off will hit theaters on June 14, 2019.
