Here’s Your First Look at Some Actual RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 Gameplay

Look, I'm just gonna be straight with you folks: I don't think I'm looking forward to anything else this year as much as I'm looking forward to Rockstar Games' Red Dead Redemption 2, up to and including Halloween, any movie arriving between now and January 1st, or your birthday.

When the first Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer arrived, we marveled at how amazing the game looked. Then another trailer arrived, and we were forced to conjure another series of adjectives to describe the sheer beauty of the game. With this latest trailer, I'm not even sure what to say. Every description that comes to mind feels like hyperbole. Could this be the best-looking game of all time? Possibly, but there's some stiff competition out there, especially in a year where God of War was released.

For now, let's just agree that Red Dead Redemption 2 is inarguably stunning, and focus on the real intention of today's new trailer: to give us an idea how Red Dead Redemption 2 will actually play.

So, looks like Red Dead Redemption 2 will play a lot like the first Red Dead Redemption! You've got your sprawling map (which, as expected, looks like it recreates quite a few locations from the previous game in this franchise), you've got your sassy cowboys getting into barfights, your roaming gangs of outlaws looking for their next big score. Poker's back, Dead Eye's back, Rockstar's razor-sharp mo-cap performances have never looked better. This thing looks like a nine-course meal, and we can't wait to play it.
