Warning: the comments on this post will contain spoilers for The Meg.
After years trapped in the deepest trenches of development hell, Jon Turtletaub's The Meg is finally swimming into theaters this weekend, and so far the reaction from critics has been ... well, a bit divided.
While our own Jacob Knight had a blast with the film (read his review here) and many other people we tend to agree with have called it "exactly the movie you're hoping for", a fair amount of other critics have found themselves underwhelmed by the film's steadfast refusal to get bloody (if you hadn't already heard, they really earned that PG-13 rating on this one).
We're curious to hear where you folks stand on all this. Seen The Meg yet? What'd you think? Worth the wait? Not so much? Think you'd like a gorier director's cut? Sound off in the comments below, and if you're going swimming this weekend: be safe out there.
