It's been so long since we heard anything about HBO's Hervé Villechaize biopic, My Dinner With Hervé, you might've forgotten it was even happening. But today brings us our first teaser for the film, and all of a sudden we're just as intrigued as we were when we first heard about the project.
This thing looks wild.
Obviously, Peter Dinklage is playing the titular role of Hervé Villechaize, while Jamie Dornan stars as the struggling journalist who strikes up an unlikely friendship with the Fantasy Island star. They'll be joined by (per Deadline) "Mireille Enos as Hervé’s longtime girlfriend, Kathy Self; Harriet Walter as Danny’s newspaper editor, Fiona Baskin; Oona Chaplin as Danny’s girlfriend, Katie Nielson; with David Strathairn as Villechaize’s longtime agent, Marty Rothstein; and Andy García as Ricardo Montalbán, Villechaize’s Fantasy Island co-star." Helluva lineup.
If you know anything about Villechaize's life, you already know he had quite the career, one filled with tremendous peaks and a whole lotta unfortunate valleys. We're guessing My Dinner With Hervé will be a bit darker than this teaser indicates, but we're fascinated to see the final product.
Speaking of which, My Dinner With Hervé hits HBO on Oct. 20th. Y'all gonna tune in or what?
