Fantastic Fest Announces 2018’s Satellite Location Programming!

Can't make it to Austin in 2018? These Drafthouses have got you covered!

Look, we all want to attend Fantastic Fest. That's just what happens when your event is the greatest celebration of genre cinema the world sees each year. But the Fest also realizes that not everyone can afford to take a week off work, buy a plane ticket, book a hotel room, and snag a badge for a cinema buffet. That's just life's silly, sad reality. So, in an effort to spread the wealth a bit and bring some weird joy into the lives of those who can't make it down to Austin in two weeks, Fantastic Fest is announcing this year's satellite locations and programming!

Per the gorgeous, charismatic Creative Director Evrim Ersoy: “After the rapturous response to the launch of the markets last year, it only made sense to bring them back BIGGER and BADDER than before. We want to keep sharing the love that makes Fantastic Fest great and let it grow over the coming years. Prepare to have your eyeballs melted!”

Taking place between the 27th to 30th of September, the satellite markets will not only bring the best of the Fest to select towns across America, but will also present specials, guests, events and all the wild, fun extras that make Fantastic Fest unique, including a live concert screening of Mario Bava's Danger: Diabolik with the Morricone Youth Orchestra performing live at Alamo Drafthouse Brooklyn! Holy Snikes!

The (almost) full program for the satellite markets includes Nicolas Pesce’s Sundance hit Piercing starring Christopher Abbott and Mia Wasikowska; Jim Hosking’s mesmerising follow-up to The Greasy Strangler, An Evening With Beverly Luff Linn, featuring Aubrey Plaza, Jemaine Clement AND Craig Robinson; the darkly poetic SXSW hit A Bluebird In My Heart; and Gustav Möller’s heart-stoppingly tense single-location thriller The Guilty; as well as AGFA’s highly exciting dual release of Sarah Jacobson’s work, I Was A Teenage Serial Killer and Mary Jane's Not A Virgin Anymore.

Tickets for all the satellite markets are available now to purchase here. Check out the full lineups for the individual satellite locations below:
