Hail Satan: The First CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA Trailer Just Arrived

Don't think you're interested in the new SABRINA? Watch this.

Real talk: when Netflix announced it was putting together a new Sabrina The Teenage Witch series starring Kiernan Shipka, I shrugged and went about my business. When we learned it would be handled by the same team that produced Riverdale, I still did not care. When people tried to tell me this wouldn't be the Sabrina series I was imagining, I ignored them because I am stubborn and dumb and have made "not listening to reason" something of a personal branding choice.

So, today, when the first teaser for The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina showed up in my inbox, I almost didn't even bother watching it. No judgments for anyone who was excited about this series, of course; I was just certain that it wouldn't be for me.

Folks, I was very wrong.

This looks awesome. It is, indeed, very much not what I was imagining.

The Riverdale influence is strong here - it appears to have the same bold colors, the same sexy lighting, the same high drama - but with an added layer of Satanic intrigue. The pleasant surprise I'm experiencing right now is what happens when you don't listen to your friends (sorry, Phil), and I feel foolish for having been dismissive of this thing for so long. I am now fully onboard the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina train, and will absolutely be checking it out when it hits Netflix next month.

Here's an official plot synopsis:

"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina imagines the origin and adventures of Sabrina the Teenage Witch as a dark coming-of-age story that traffics in horror, the occult and, of course, witchcraft. Tonally in the vein of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds Sabrina wrestling to reconcile her dual nature — half-witch, half-mortal — while standing against the evil forces that threaten her, her family and the daylight world humans inhabit."

Starring Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis, Ross Lynch, Michelle Gomez, Bronson Pinchot (BALKI?!) and many, many more, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina looks like perfect Halloween viewing material. Will you be checking it out when it arrives on October 26th? Let us know below.
