Look, after everything else they've done together (including Step Brothers, recognized as a legit classic in my household), I'll watch any movie headlined by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. I don't care what it's about. I don't care how dumb the trailer is. I don't care who directed it. I don't care how the bad word-of-mouth is behind the scenes. These men - these glorious idiots - have more than earned my trust over the years.
Your mileage may vary.
This is the first trailer for Etan Cohen's Holmes and Watson, one of (checks notes) 4,000 movies hitting theaters this December. It looks incredibly silly (its best joke is probably John C. Reilly's Watson firing a revolver at a swarm of killer bees), even by Ferrell & Reilly standards. Obviously we're gonna be there day one.
In addition to the aforementioned dynamic duo of Ferrell & Reilly, Holmes and Watson also features Ralph Fiennes (as the villainous Moriarty), Rebecca Hall, Hugh Laurie, Rob Brydon and Kelly Macdonald. Geez. If this movie turns out to be a dud, it certainly won't be because they skimped on the casting.
What do y'all think? Into it, or not so much? Sound off in the comments below, and stay tuned for more on Holmes and Watson as we close in on its December 21st release date.
