The folks at Rockstar Games released the next video in their ongoing Red Dead Redemption 2 Gameplay series today, and it is - as expected - very impressive. Everything here looks razor-sharp, from the mo-cap work to the smallest environmental details.
Oh. It also contains our first look at the game's first-person mode.
Everything else on display here is about what you'd expect from Rockstar's latest: a thriving game world, gnarly violence, a seemingly endless parade of largely inconsequential side activities (Loan sharking! Five-finger filet! "Take in a show!") and so on. But that first-person footage is really something else. It's not the first time Rockstar's dabbled in this area, of course, but the execution here seems better than ever, particularly in the brief moment where we see our hero ("hero") firing from horseback.
Of course, none of this probably makes any difference to you; you've known for some time whether you're on board for another Red Dead adventure. Good news is, the wait's almost over: Red Dead Redemption 2 arrives on October 26th, at which time productivity levels nationwide will slow to a crawl. We can't wait!
