It’s not going to take much longer for Disney to remake their entire animated catalogue into live-action films. A whopping three of them will have been unleashed this time next year. And since people seem so into them, there’s no reason for them to slow down any time soon.
And they aren’t. According to THR, the latest film to get the live-action treatment will be 2002’s Lilo & Stitch. Like a lot of these things (and let’s face it, almost every major movie out there), the film will be a live-action/CG hybrid. I’m sure you can already imagine a CG Stitch in your noggin right now. People are going to love this.
It’s not clear yet whether this is going to theaters or will be held in reserve for Disney’s upcoming streaming behemoth. Either way, I’m sure it’ll be a big success for the company, one that hopefully gets us one step closer to a live-action version of The Emperor’s New Groove.
