Netflix Is Taking A Trip To Narnia

Stock up on Turkish Delights.

You may not remember it, but The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third of Disney’s Chronicles of Narnia series, came out eight years ago. Feels like just yesterday. Nevertheless, that’s enough time for a reboot apparently.

But not from Disney. According to THR, Netflix now has a multiyear deal with the C.S. Lewis Company to make a new series and films and series of films and whatever else they want with Lewis’ Narnia books. Given how much stuff Netflix produces, I’d expect adaptations of every book by the end of next week. At the very least.

Kidding aside, it’ll be interesting to see what Netflix does with this IP. The mixture of series and movies intrigues me most. Are they going to go off-book for some of it? Stretch out The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to thirteen episodes? Who knows! Netflix can do whatever it wants!
