It’s Official: NATHAN FOR YOU Has Ended Its Run

"Don't be sad / be glad / be happy for me."

Well, this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone, but today it's been made official: Nathan For You, one of the greatest television shows of all time, has ended its run. The news come to us directly from Comedy Central, who issued the following statement on the matter:

“For the past five years Comedy Central had the pleasure of working with the brilliant Nathan Fielder on Nathan For You. His innovative and quick-witted humor has made the show a comedic touchstone and we’re proud to have been a part of it. We respect Nathan’s decision to end the series and look forward to geeking out over his next project.”

Again - not shocking! This past season's finale, the 90-minute "Finding Frances", served as the perfect endpoint for the series. By turns uncomfortable, hilarious, heartwrenching and uplifting, it combined the very best elements of the entire show up to that point, and even provided something approaching closure for the meta-Nathan at the center of the show.

Seriously, if you haven't seen that episode - or any episodes of Nathan For You! - be aware that the entire series is now streaming on Hulu, and it's something I honestly believe everyone should watch. Even if you hate Nathan Fielder's brand of cringe-comedy, it's unlike anything else that's ever been on television. It's truly something to see.

Anyhoo, we'll miss Nathan For You dearly, but (much like Comedy Central) we can't wait to see what this lovable lunatic does next.
