Disney May Reboot PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN With Those Rascally DEADPOOL Writers
What do you do when you have a billion-dollar franchise no one likes? You certainly don’t throw it away in search of the next billion-dollar franchise. Instead, why not just try it all over again?
According to Deadline, that’s what Disney may be up to regarding their Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Apparently, they have met with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, writers of the Deadpool movies and Zombieland, to get a re-do going. They are in early talks, so they still have time to come to their senses.
Because how does one reboot this series exactly? Do you leave out Johnny Depp? Do you forgo the grimy aesthetic? Or do you keep those things and just pretend to have a new timeline or what? Right now, the only certain return is Jerry Bruckheimer. And sea water, one assumes.
We’ll just have to wait and see how this goes. Or wait and see if it just goes away. I know people across the world still come out for these movies. I just haven’t met one.
