Chris Pine Goes Full Nic Cage In New I AM THE NIGHT Trailer

I had no idea when I woke up today that I’d be seeing Chris Pine maniacally screaming “Can you dig it?” at some guy like a regular Nicolas Cage. And yet here we are. The second trailer for Patty Jenkins’ limited series I Am the Night is here, and it is a bit more unhinged than I was expecting.

I don’t have TNT, which will air this six-part series beginning January 28, so I do not know if this is something I’ll ever get a chance to check out. Now that I’ve seen this trailer, I’m kind of bummed out about that. There’s always been a wild side to Chris Pine, one that peeks out occasionally but certainly not enough. I Am the Night looks as though it might luxuriate in that corner of the actor’s persona a bit, and that’s something I would like to witness.
