Dearly beloved children who grew up in the ’90s, we are gathered here today to celebrate the return of Macaulay Culkin to the sacred Home of Alone. Culkin has blessed us with a reprisal of his iconic Kevin McAllister role for (checks notes) a Google Assistant commercial – nevermind the reason, OK? The point is that Macaulay Culkin is all grown up (and totally healthy and fine, as you can see) and paying homage to one of the only truly good (IMHO) legit Christmas movies of all time: Home Alone.
Now that he's older, Kevin can do grown folks activities, like have his Google Assistant (who sounds an awful lot like Siri) add aftershave to his shopping list and wear a shirt when he stands in front of the mirror (there are children watching, for goodness' sake).
Aside from experiencing the wonder of a grown-up Kevin McAllister, the real joy of this video is in beholding the original Home Alone house, recreated in totally nerdy painstaking detail. The kids' drawings! The wallpaper! Kevin's parents' bedroom! The bag of Crunch-eez! Also, honestly, Kevin is probably even more relatable now as an adult – homeboy can't even jump on the bed without pulling something in his back.
Of course, now that he has a Google Assistant, Kevin can deploy all his nifty booby traps without even lifting a finger. It's just a shame that they couldn't wrangle Daniel Stern and Joe Pesci for this thing, but I guess not even Google Money can lure Pesci out of the house.
