THE PUNISHER Season Two Gets A Talky Teaser And Release Date

Frank Castle is one of the few heroes who survived the great Marvel Netflix purge of last year. That’s likely not because of popularity or quality, but because, uh, they had a season already done and ready to go. Conversely, I don’t think any of those shows got dropped because of a lack of popularity or perceived quality. I stopped watching these things, but my impressions is people like them for the most part.

The point of all this is not to be surprised when Netflix does eventually cancel The Punisher. But in the meantime, there is a season coming. And it’s coming a lot sooner than I thought. Check out the teaser for The Punisher season two:

As you can see, they’re setting up Jigsaw as this season’s main antagonist, which might irritate fans of Punisher: War Zone, which at least had the guts to make its Jigsaw ugly and gnarled. This guy here could still have a pretty successful Bumble profile.

The teaser also tells us to expect the show on January 18th. Which is less than three weeks from now. We’ll probably get a much more detailed trailer between now and then, so keep a look out for that.
