Here Are Last Night’s Golden Globe Winners
Last night's Golden Globes kicked off awards season with quite the curveball: by naming Bohemian Rhapsody the year's Best Drama and star Rami Malek as its Best Actor, for his portrayal of Queen frontman Freddie Mercury. Both of these wins were shocking for different reasons, and - depending on how much stock you put in the Globes' ability to predict Academy Award winners - may have altered the entire narrative surrounding this year's Oscar race. We'll have to wait and see.
Other winners included Alfonso Cuarón as Best Director for Roma, which also won the Foreign Language prize, while Olivia Colman and Glenn Close triumphed in their respective Best Actress categories despite some truly ferocious competition.
In television, Sandra Oh took a short break from her co-hosting duties to celebrate her win for Killing Eve, leading to one of the evening's more adorable moments as her parents cheered her on from the crowd. The Americans took home the prize for Best Drama Series, while The Assassination of Gianni Versace and The Kominsky Method were recognized for lead actor and best comedy series, respectively.
In true Globes spirit, the alcohol seemed to be flowing, giving way to some entertaining moments: like Christian Bale's shout-out to Satan and the return of "The Dude" in Jeff Bridges' speech for the Cecil B. Demille award.
Anyway, whether you watched last night or you're just catching up, this is a safe place to share your thoughts on all the antics from the 76th annual Golden Globes. Here's the full list of winners in film:
