If there was ever any doubt in your mind that Bad Boys For Life (which, according to the already-established naming convention, really should've been titled Bad Boys 3) is a real movie that's really happening, please allow the following Instagram post from Will Smith to assuage your fears:
As you can see, this photo features Martin Lawrence and Will Smith standing side by side in what appears to be a motel room. They are wearing badges because, as you'll recall from the previous Bad Boys films, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence play police cops...of the "bad boy" variety.
As for what Bad Boys For Life is about, Slashfilm's got a good description:
"Bad Boys For Life picks up with the Miami police department and its elite AMMO team’s attempt to take down a cold-blooded, taunting killer named Armando Armas (Jacob Scipio), the head of a drug cartel. Armas’s mother ... sends him to kill Mike (Smith), and something tells me Armas is going to regret taking on that particular task."
So that sounds like it could be pretty rad.
We're also excited to learn that wildly talented cinematographer Benoit Debie (who lensed such eyeball-melters as Enter The Void and Spring Breakers) will be shooting this one, under the direction of Belgian filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Oh, and Joey Pants is returning. That's definitely a plus.
Stay tuned for more on Bad Boys For Life as further updates roll in. Movie arrives on January 17th of next year.
