Final Warning: This post will contain Captain Marvel spoilers.
Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel is on track to open somewhere between $155-160M at the box office this weekend, a staggering figure which only gets more impressive when you realize the film's based on a character many casual moviegoers are wholly unfamiliar with (compare that figure to, say, the $103M put up by the similarly crowd-pleasing Wonder Woman on its opening weekend). This movie is a big-ass hit.
And now that we've all had a few days to chew over it, we figured you folks could probably use a post specifically for discussing the film's surprisingly high number of spoilers: what'd you think of what Captain Marvel did with the Skrulls? Nick Fury? How'd you feel about the cat? All those needle drops? The Stan Lee cameo, which gets weirder and weirder the longer you think about? What'd you think of the relationship between Carol and Rambeau? Where do you rank Boden and Fleck's film against the rest of the films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
There's a lot to discuss, so head on down to the comments and go nuts (oh, and if you were putting off reading our Captain Marvel review until you'd seen the film for yourself, head on over to this page to see what we thought).
