The SOPRANOS Prequel Movie Is Now Called NEWARK

And it arrives next September.

According to Deadline, Alan Taylor's forthcoming Sopranos prequel movie, The Many Saints of Newark, has now officially been retitled Newark.

Featuring a murderer's row of talent (including Vera Farmiga, Ray Liotta, Jon Bernthal, Corey Stoll and Billy Magnussen) and what sounds to be a very timely script co-written by Sopranos creator David Chase and Lawrence Konner, Newark has also just been given a release date: September 25th, 2020. So, we got that long to rewatch the entire run of the original series.

Here's a question for you folks: do y'all care about Newark? The Birth.Movies.Death. staff includes more than a few raging Sopranos fans, and lord knows we're curious about Newark, but I'm also getting the impression that hype levels surrounding this project - at least as far as those of the BMD readership are concerned - are running somewhat low.

Is that accurate? Are y'all hyped about this one? Are you put off by the prequel nature of the thing? Indifferent until you see a trailer? Let us know where your heads are at in the comments below, and stay tuned for more on Newark as further updates roll in.
