THE LAST BLACK MAN IN SAN FRANCISCO Gets A Beautiful Trailer

Put this one on your radar, folks.

Sometimes at film festivals, where you see multiple movies every day, the full weight of something can take a while to settle. This happened with me in regards to The Last Black Man in San Francisco. I immediately admired the film, to be sure. But it wasn’t until later that I realized how moved I was by its beauty, melancholy and gentle nature.

This trailer for the film does a lot to get all that across, and reminds me how much I enjoyed this film as a result. Check it out and see what effect it has on you:

This is from A24, which gives me reason to hope it doesn’t get ignored or buried upon its summer release. But this is a quiet movie, and it may have a hard time standing out among all those loud summer tentpoles. Fingers crossed it can break through the noise because this is a very special film.
