DOWNTON ABBEY Gets Ready For Royalty In First Full Trailer

The King and Queen are coming to Downton!

The first full trailer for Downton Abbey is here! The movie spin-off of the beloved TV series will reunite the Crawley family in 1927 as they prepare for a royal visit.

Check it out:

Set to take place only a couple of years after the series ended, all of our favorite residents are back, including Hugh Bonneville, Maggie Smith, Laura Carmichael, Penelope Wilton, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, and Jim Carter, to prepare Grantham House for the unexpected visit from King George V and Queen Mary. The trailer shows Mrs. Patmore (Lesley Nicol), Mrs. Hughes (Phyllis Logan), and the steadfast servants of Downton scrambling in excitement to make every detail perfect for the event, while Dockery's Lady Mary pays a visit to retired butler, Carson, to request his help.

In 2015, the series ended with happy endings all around, so it's going to be interesting to see where the movie takes these beloved characters. The film will also introduce a number of new cast members played by Imelda Staunton, David Haig, and Tuppence Middleton.
