Here’s The Full Trailer For DC Universe’s SWAMP THING

Well, this looks creepy.

The DC Universe's highly-anticipated Swamp Thing series debuts this Friday, and ... look, I'm thinking very strongly about throwing down for a DC Universe subscription. In between the bonkers footage I've seen from Doom Patrol and everything we've heard about Swamp Thing, it seems like kind of a no-brainer.

And this trailer - which is selling a horror/superhero mashup with a pronounced bayou aesthetic, plot threads involving a mysterious disease, and old ramshackle cabins out in the woods (I fucking love old ramshackle cabins out in the woods!) - looks decidedly up my alley. See if you don't agree, but please don't yell at me if you don't:

That looks like it could be kinda fun, right? Spooky locations, gross crime scenes, Will Patton being sinister as hell? I'll absolutely give this one a day in court. Maybe it'll turn out to be yet another superhero series I just can't get into (I have tried more of them than you might believe!), but on paper this certainly sounds like it'd be more my speed.

Here's an official plot synopsis (and some casting info!), via Deadline:

“Swamp Thing follows Abby Arcane as she investigates what seems to be a deadly swamp-born virus in a small town in Louisiana but soon discovers that the swamp holds mystical and terrifying secrets. When unexplainable and chilling horrors emerge from the murky marsh, no one is safe.

Andy Bean (Power) stars as Alec Holland, the scientist who transforms into Swamp Thing (Derek Mears). The series also features Jennifer Beals (The L Word) as Sheriff Lucilia Cable, Maria Sten (Channel Zero) as reporter Liz Treymane, Will Patton (Falling Skies) as the scheming Avery Sunderland, Virginia Madsen as the privileged Maria Sunderland. The series will introduce supernatural-leaning characters from the DC library, too, among them Blue Devil (Ian Ziering of Beverly Hills 90210) and Madame Xanadu (Jeryl Prescott of The Walking Dead)."
