Storm Reid Likely To Join James Gunn’s SUICIDE SQUAD

But her role remains a mystery.

Hey, did you forget James Gunn was making a Suicide Squad movie just because there hasn’t been any news on it lately and also because the notion that Gunn was coming back to Marvel kind of dwarfed this whole project? If so, that’s fine because I did too.

But let this be a reminder. Suicide Squad 2 is still happening. And according to The Wrap, it’s likely happening with A Wrinkle in Time’s Storm Reid. The young star is not attached yet, but odds are she will be very soon.

Who is she playing? That’s the hard part. Supposedly she is playing the daughter of Idris Elba’s character. But we don’t know who he is playing either. Initially, we all thought he was taking over the Deadshot role from Will Smith but we soon learned that was not the case at all. He’s just someone different. Someone different who also has a young daughter. Could happen to anyone!

I have to say, I am very excited about the DCEU going forward. They’re keeping what works but replacing what hasn’t. Does that mean we’ll see Harley go head to head with the new Batman? Will Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman hang out with whoever the new Superman is and just pretend Henry Cavill never happened? Suicide Squad 2 is probably too early for these questions to get answers, but we’re definitely getting closer.

Whatever it's called, the next Suicide Squad hits theaters August 6, 2021.
