The UNDERWATER Trailer Traps Kristen Stewart Seven Miles Below The Ocean’s Surface
Today brings us the first trailer for William Eubank's Underwater, a movie you may have been totally unaware of until just now! Starring Kristen Stewart, Vincent Cassel and, uh, TJ Miller as "a crew of underwater researchers who must scramble to safety after an earthquake devastates their subterranean laboratory", this one was apparently shot some time ago but is only just getting a release in January.
Here, check it out:
So, this definitely looks like a number of movies we've seen before, but the involvement of K-Stew and Cassel is certainly intriguing. Also intriguing: those underwater shots. I'm digging how murky and cloudy things look down there on the ocean floor, and the suggestion that one of those...whatever those things are...might emerge out the shadows at any moment. Like this:
Will this be enough to get me into a theater? Well, no, probably not, but this does look like ideal "hungover on a Sunday" Netflix viewing.
Oh, here's the first poster. It's not very imaginative.
What do you folks think? You interested in another "people trapped underwater" movie? Think these researchers will turn out to be unwittingly responsible for the creatures they've encountered on the ocean floor? Will new K-Stew get you to the theater? Will Miller's involvement keep you away? Any of y'all ever seen Leviathan? I should rewatch Leviathan.
Underwater hits theaters on January 10th, 2020.
