Have A Merry, Merry, Merry First BLACK CHRISTMAS Trailer

This holiday season, maybe don't stay on campus.

We only just learned about Blumhouse's Black Christmas remake back in June, so even if we knew the film was headed our way this December, it's still kind of a shock to be seeing a finalized trailer so soon after the announcement. But here we are, and here it is, and the good news is: this holiday-themed slasher looks like a helluva lot of fun.

Take a look:

Our resident horror expert, Brian Collins, points out that this Black Christmas bears little resemblance to the original, but in this case that's not a bad thing (Collins: "This looks like Sorority Row meets The Skulls with a bunch of Christmas lights, I'm onboard"). I'm into the college cult shenanigans going on here, as well as the gnarliness on some of these kills. This is definitely the movie I'll be seeing the week before Cats comes out.

Here's an official plot synopsis, should you need one:

"Just in time for the holidays comes a timely take on a cult horror classic as a campus killer comes to face a formidable group of friends in sisterhood. Hawthorne College is quieting down for the holidays. But as Riley Stone and her Mu Kappa Epsilon sisters—athlete Marty, rebel Kris, and foodie Jesse—prepare to deck the halls with a series of seasonal parties, a black-masked stalker begins killing sorority women one by one. As the body count rises, Riley and her squad start to question whether they can trust any man, including Marty’s beta-male boyfriend, Nate, Riley’s new crush Landon or even esteemed classics instructor Professor Gelson. Whoever the killer is, he’s about to discover that this generation’s young women aren’t about to be anybody’s victims."

Black Christmas (starring Imogen Poots, Aleyse Shannon, Brittany O’Grady, Lily Donoghue, Caleb Eberhardt, and Cary Elwes) hits theaters on Friday, December 13th.
