New Netflix Trailer Day continues with the first trailer for Living With Yourself, a sci-fi comedy series starring Paul Rudd and... Paul Rudd. With apologies to Ang Lee, this is truly the Gemini Man we deserve. It is as if creator Timothy Greenberg watched the iconic mirror scene in Wanderlust and thought, yes this, but the mirror Paul Rudd is also real and they fight each other for many episodes – which is to say I am completely sold:
The series follows Miles, whose unhappiness with his life drives him to undergo a weird spa treatment which promises to make him the best version of himself he can possibly be. It seems like a success, and Miles returns home a much happier man – until the real Miles claws his way out of a shallow grave and comes back to reclaim his life from the clone Miles.
In addition to the two Rudds, Living With Yourself stars Irish comedian Aisling Bea as Rudd's wife, along with Desmin Borges (You're the Worst), Karen Pittman, and Zoe Chao. The series was directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the duo behind Litlte Miss Sunshine and Battle of the Sexes. This series, however, appears to be more similar in tone to the duo's Ruby Sparks, the exceptional 2012 film written by and starring Zoe Kazan – and I definitely hope that's the case.
