Look, any Matrix 4 news is news we’re going to report. Even when there honestly isn’t all that much to report. This is a very exciting project, and we’re just as caught up with it as the rest of you. But it's also a very secretive one.
Today brings the big news that Neil Patrick Harris has joined the cast, which at this point includes a returning Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss as well as Yahya Abdul-Mateen. Who will Harris play? How big will his role be? Where the heck is Laurence Fishburne in all this? What do you think this is, Christmas? We don’t have any idea. This is going to be one of those detail-free movies for a long time.
But that doesn’t mean this whole thing isn’t super cool. And there is a rumor out there that Morpheus will appear in the film but as a younger version of himself. I mean, the whole thing is going to have to enter into some wacky shit since the two returning characters died in the first trilogy. With that in mind, my hope is that Patrick is playing the older version of also-dead character Mouse. I mean, why not.
Obviously, we will keep you abreast of any further developments in Matrix 4 land. Until then, have yourself a rewatch of Reloaded because it rules.
