EXCLUSIVE: Mondo’s KNIVES OUT Poster Cordially Invites You Into A Crime Scene

Phantom City Creative's poster is Agatha Christie af.

Disclosure: Mondo and BMD are both owned by the Alamo Drafthouse.

Rian Johnson's Knives Out hits theaters this week, and boy oh boy are y'all in for a treat. Like murder mysteries? Dark comedies? Are you into big, gothic mansions and cable-knit sweaters and watching awful people turn on one another? Then this is the movie for you, especially those of you with a taste for Agatha Christie.

To celebrate Knives Out's arrival in theaters, our friends at Mondo are dropping a brand-new poster (by the great Phantom City Creative) and the film's soundtrack, featuring Nathan Johnson's original score. Both will hit Mondo's website at 12PM CST on Wednesday. While we're waiting on that to occur, let's take a look at the wares...

KNIVES OUT by Phantom City Creative
24"x36" Screenprinted Poster
Edition of 250
Printed by DL Screenprinting

Here is my reaction to the poster above: I hope Rian Johnson ends up making an entire series of Benoit Blanc murder mysteries, and I further hope that each is accompanied by a new Phantom City Creative poster in this style. I want a whole roomful of 'em.

Now, let's take a look at that 2XLP vinyl release...

KNIVES OUT - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack 2XLP.

Original Score Composed and Produced by Nathan Johnson.

Layout and Design by Jay Shaw.

Pressed on 2x 180 Gram Black Vinyl.

Housed in a die-cut gatefold jacket, containing one of nine randomly inserted "Suspects".

Expected to Ship December 2019. Ships Worldwide. $35

Love the score, love the die-cut cover on this one (I will absolutely be ordering one of these, and if I don't get the Michael Shannon one I will throw a hysterical and embarrassing fit about it). Another in a long line of sharp-looking Mondo vinyl releases (and I'll bet the interior's great, as well).

Anyhoo, like we said up top: both the Phantom City Creative Knives Out poster and Nathan Johnson's Knives Out score will hit Mondo's online store noon, CST, this Wednesday. If you're hoping to snag one of these, I suggest being on that page right when noon hits. Both of these are probably gonna go quick.
