This New RISE OF THE SKYWALKER Trailer Seems A Bit Spoilery

Proceed at your own risk, STAR WARS fans.

FINAL WARNING: This post may contain spoilery footage from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker

Alright, look: Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is only a week away. Many of you have been in full media-blackout mode for months, doing your damnedest to avoid any and all spoilers to keep your very first viewings as fresh and unperturbed as possible. If that's you, and you've come all this way without learning anything about the final film in the decades-long Skywalker saga, this trailer probably ain't for you.

Everyone else? Proceed accordingly.

This, as you can see, is a new trailer for Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It features Kylo Ren landing on an unknown planet (Planetoid? Free-floating space glacier? I mean, really, who knows), striding towards a large structure, descending into that structure (which quickly reveals itself to be a temple of some sort), and then hearing the voice of the dreaded Emperor all around him.

"I have been every voice you've ever heard," the voice rumbles, before Ren turns to approach another...I dunno, shrine? What would you even call that thing? Maybe a tomb? I'm not as well-versed in Star Wars lore as the rest of you: is this a location we've seen before? Kinda looks like a place I visited recently while playing through Jedi: Fallen Order, but not quite. I'm sure you'll let me know if this is a place I should be familiar with.

Anyway, we're not precisely sure what's taking place in this scene, or whether that voice we're hearing can be trusted. We do know we're surprised to see this clip being released so close to The Rise of Skywalker's arrival (this is not the behavior of the JJ Abrams we know), and are very curious to see how this all fits in context with the rest of the film. Thank God we don't have to wait much longer.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrives next week. Which night are you seeing it and how excited are you about it? Sound off in the comments below.
