Dinner and a movie is the classic date night go-to, and this Valentine's Day, the Alamo Drafthouse wants to help you take your plans to the next level. Whether you're celebrating with a romantic partner, your galentines, your lover, your platonic soulmate, or taking yourself out for a solo date, the Drafthouse invites everyone to send a special message to the one(s) they love — for a good cause! When you purchase an advance ticket to a February 14 screening between now and February 7, you can drop an extra $5 to have your very own personalized Love Note displayed on the big screen at the Drafthouse. All 41 locations nationwide are participating in this event, with proceeds split between UNIDOS Disaster Relief & Recover Program to Support Puerto Rico and GlobalGiving's Australia Wildfire Relief Fund. In addition, the Drafthouse's Alamo Gives initiative will donate $5,000 to each of these organizations.
Here's how it works: For $5, you can write a personalized Love Note (60 characters max!) for your friend, your mom, your boo, yourself, your cat, or whoever you love. Your donation will also enter you for a chance to win the ultimate Valentine's Day gift: a free year of movies courtesy of the Alamo Drafthouse's Season Pass membership program. Oh, but that is not all, my dudes: the Drafthouse's creative team will reach out to the winner to have the Season Pass delivered to the recipient in person by the costumed movie character of their choice. The possibilities are endless, as is the potential for (affectionate) embarrassment at your loved one's place of employment.
Love Notes are available to purchase with advance tickets to February 14 screenings between now and February 7 — which should give you plenty of time to make all the necessary decisions, like which movie to see, what to say in your Love Note, and — should you win the Season Pass — which costumed movie character you'd like to have deliver your gift. More titles will be added in the coming weeks, like Birds of Prey, Downhill, and last year's sensual stunner Portrait of a Lady on Fire. Tickets for most of the titles screening as part of the Drafthouse's "Bad Romance" repertory program are also on sale right now, and you can check out a handful of those titles below:

- Boomerang, one of Eddie Murphy’s greatest (and most underrated) films, a 1992 romantic comedy pairing him with Halle Berry.
- One of the most imaginative, poignant, and sweetly romantic films ever made, director Michel Gondry and screenwriter Charlie Kaufman’s 2004 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.
- A fizzy “Champagne Cinema” celebration of 2005’s Keira Knightley-led adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice.
- David Lynch’s 1990 black comedy romance Wild at Heart, starring Nicolas Cage, Laura Dern, and a snakeskin jacket.
- A special “Afternoon Tea” screening of Daniel Day-Lewis’ triumphant 2017 swan song in Paul Thomas Anderson’s Phantom Thread.
- Screenings of two very twisted romances – Jordan Peele’s 2017 megahit Get Out, and Francis Ford Coppola’s 1992 adaptation of Bram Stoker's Dracula.
