Get Creeped Out By The First Trailer For Darren Aronofsky’s MOTHER!

What the hell even is this movie?

The first full-length trailer for Darren Aronofsky's Mother! has arrived, and what can I say?

This is how you cut a goddamn trailer.

Mother! lands in theaters in just over a month. Most people had no idea it even existed until a few months ago, and in the time since we've learned next to nothing about it (the official synopsis offers almost zero help: "Terror strikes when uninvited guests disrupt a couple's tranquil existence"). We know it's a horror movie, we know who's in it, and we know that it's responsible for one of the year's best posters. That's about it.

And now we have this trailer, which only raises more questions. Who are these people invading Lawrence and Bardem's home? What's going on in that basement? Why does there also appear to be a great number of people descending upon their residence? Why does said residence appear to go full Silent Hill at one point?

And here's the most important question of all: how refreshing is it to feel this uninformed about a film - particularly one with this pedigree - only five weeks before it hits theaters? We know almost nothing and I am loving it. I can't wait to find out what this thing is. How about you folks?

Mother! arrives on September 15th. We'll be there on day one.
