Trailer For MARROWBONE Teases An Immigrant’s Horror Story

Spanish director Sergio G. Sánchez has made quite the name for himself as a high-profile screenwriter, having penned both The Impossible and The Orphanage for J.A. Bayona (who has since graduated to making Jurassic World sequels).

Now, Sánchez - following a string of short films and TV movies - is set to make his feature debut with Marrowbone, a rather creepy-looking gothic horror picture that details the haunting of an immigrant family on the titular rural estate.

While it's slightly tough to tell what the overall narrative is from that spot, this brief synopsis shines a little more light on the matter:

"A young man and his three younger siblings, who have kept secret the death of their beloved mother in order to remain together, are plagued by a sinister presence in the sprawling manor in which they live."

Co-starring Anya Taylor-Joy (Split, Thoroughbreds) and George MacKay (11.22.63), Marrowbone looks like it's going to pack enough of a strange punch to make us curious when it hits theaters and VOD April 13th from Magnet Films/Magnolia Pictures.
