Composer Podcast: Fabio Frizzi Scores PUPPET MASTER: THE LITTLEST REICH

The Italian maestro is pulling the strings to his latest score for the PUPPET MASTER franchise.

Happy Halloween! If you aren’t totally ecstatic about today then maybe I’ve got just the treat to trick you into tonight’s festivities. Tony Giles of the Damn Fine Cast has another composer podcast for us and this time it’s with famed Italian horror composer Fabio Frizzi! Maybe you’re not as familiar with his work as you should be, that’s okay, this podcast is sure to get you back on track.

Frizzi has been composing delicious scores for a variety of Italian genre films since the 1970s. Some of his more popular scores are from films by Lucio Fulci including A Cat in the Brain (1990), Contraband (1980), Manhattan Baby (1982), The Beyond (1981) and Zombie (1979). Frizzi is back with a brand new score for Puppet Master: The Littlest Reich (2018). This is the eleventh film in the famed Puppetmaster (1989) series and Frizzi absolutely knocks it out of the park. It’s fresh, modern, yet hints of that familiar Puppetmaster sound that threads itself throughout all eleven films.

Tony chats it up with the maestro and gives a behind-the-scenes glimpse into Frizzi’s scoring process, inspiration, and creativity. If this doesn’t put you in the Halloween spirit, nothing will. The album is being released on 'Toulon's Bloody Revenge' Vinyl by Lakeshore Records (in conjunction with Fangoria) and can be purchased HERE.
