The First BLACK WIDOW Trailer Has Arrived

In which Natasha Romanoff finally gets her own Marvel movie.

The first trailer for Cate Shorland's Black Widow arrived overnight (around 2AM, according to my inbox). It's the first film in Marvel's Phase Four lineup, a film some fans feel should've happened years ago, and a film that may or may not tie up a few of the loose ends left by some of the earlier Marvel movies. No pressure, in other words.

Let's see what we think.

Well, I'm not particularly blown away by anything going on here, but David Harbour certainly appears to be having a good time, and lord knows I'm never gonna turn down more Florence Pugh and/or Rachel Weisz. This looks decent - not mind-melting or anything, but like it'll probably make for a good way to kill a few hours in a theater this summer. And, hey, there's probably plenty they're not showing us, right?

Here's an official plot synopsis, which isn't very informative:

"Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow in Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller Black Widow—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian and Rachel Weisz as Melina."
