A Remake Of Jodorowsky’s THE HOLY MOUNTAIN Made Up Of Footage From Dog Movies

Everything is Terrible! tries the impossible. For some reason.

There are few visionaries as visionaried as the visionaries who make up Everything Is Terrible!, the greatest gang of found footage remixers there is. They’ve been going strong for years now, taking the detritus of VHS culture and turning it into something more glorious.

Now they’re attempting their greatest feat yet: remaking Jodorowsky’s The Holy Mountain using only footage from dog movies. The movie will be called Everything Is Terrible Presents: DoggieWoggiez! PoochieWoochiez!, and they’re deep into the making of it now. Talking to the Onion AV Club, EiTer Commodore Gilgamesh explains The Holy Mountain, as well as the challenges they face:

It’s a 1973 masterpiece psychedelic movie about the Tarot, and it’s amazing. I suggest everyone see it in the world. It’s a hard thing to wrap your brain around as far as a movie goes. It’s also really hard to do a remake out of dog movies about dogs that play football.

EiT is doing a telethon fundraiser right now to help them secure the thousands of dog movies they need for the project. The Commodore says he has about three terabytes of dog footage right now, and is aiming for five. He’s watching ten hours of dog movies a day - you can find out more about the pain at that Onion interview.
